Were only 14 days away until Valentine's Day! And in celebration of that - what about taking all those "heart's" out there and create your theme around that!
The great thing about a heart theme wedding is that supplies are plentiful. You can find heart candles, heart candies, heart invitations etc. But, you don’t have to stop there.
Give your guests a custom package of deck cards with instructions on how to play the game hearts (hearts is a trick taking game in which the object is to avoid winning tricks containing hearts). Or even set up an area for individuals to lounge (smoke cigars - not sure if smoking is allowed anywhere anymore though....) and play a few games of hearts.
Or instead of giving away a favor to your guests, make a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation instead.
And the color. Red is hot. It is one of the biggest color trends for 2008.
Red is the color of love/passion. Roll out a red carpet for your guests; the “red carpet treatment” is a way to make your guests feel special or like a celebrity.
If doing your whole reception in red makes you “seeing red” than consider just adding bursts of red throughout the venue such as scattering red roses throughout the venue or on the tabletops.
Or mix red with softer colors such as pinks, yellows or purples. Consider a bouquet of pink roses mixed with single red roses throughout it.
If your wedding is going to be the “greatest party” of the year – than let your guests “paint the town red” at your wedding. Instead of having a guest book, set up a paint station and let your guests paint a red heart with their signature on a large poster board. You can then frame the poster and display it in your home as a constant reminder of your wedding.
And of course, if red is going to be your color – make sure you take the “red eye” flight that night to your honeymoon destination.
